On February 8, Provincial Party Secretary Liu Ning visited the Longzihu New Energy Laboratory to extend condolences and appreciation to Academician Zhang Suojiang and to conduct field research on advancing technological innovation.
Secretary Liu engaged in warm conversations with Zhang Suojiang, who serves as both an Academician and the President of Henan University. He toured the laboratory's achievement exhibition hall and conducted on-site inspections of platforms dedicated to energy storage and hydrogen, photovoltaics, low-carbon technologies, and engineering scale-up. Liu gained a detailed understanding of the laboratory's progress in technology R&D, the transformation of scientific achievements, and talent recruitment. He expressed hope that, under Academician Zhang's leadership, the laboratory would overcome difficult challenges, make continuous efforts, break through core key technologies in new energy, accelerate the establishment of shared pilot-scale platforms, and enhance the level of industrialization of scientific and technological achievements.
Liu emphasized the need to thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on technological innovation and the spirit of his speeches during his inspection of Henan. He called for the integrated advancement of reforms in education, science, and talent development; the vigorous introduction and cultivation of leading talents and innovative teams; and the comprehensive enhancement of the overall efficiency of the innovation system, thereby taking solid steps in building Henan into a province strong in science and education. He urged educators and scientific workers to keep General Secretary Xi's earnest instructions in mind, shoulder the heavy responsibilities of the times, and have the courage to pioneer and innovate. Focusing on national strategic needs and the actual development conditions of Henan Province, they should continuously stimulate entrepreneurship, innovation, and creativity. Liu encouraged them to strive for more leaps "from 0 to 1" and "from 1 to N," making new and greater contributions to writing a new chapter of Chinese-style modernization on the Central Plains.
