The "Process Engineering Forum" of the 2023 China Chemical Society Science and Technology Innovation Conference Subforum 2 was successfully held in Hangzhou on April 12, 2023. The forum was jointly organized by the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics. Academician Zhang Suojiang, director of the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, director of the Longzihu New Energy Laboratory, and academician Liu Zhongmin, director of the Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, served as the chairman of the forum. More than 200 academicians, experts, researchers, and representatives from the business community from across the country participated in this forum.
Hua Wei, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Chinese Chemical Society, attended this forum and delivered a speech, warmly welcoming the attending experts. The forum invited Professor Ma Xinbin of Tianjin University, Professor Wang Hua of Kunming University of Technology, Professor Zhang Zhibing of Nanjing University, Professor Zhang Laiyong, chief technical expert of China Huanqiu Contracting&Engineering Corporation, Professor Li Qunsheng of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, researcher Zhang Xiangping of the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, researcher Ye Mao of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, general manager Wu Defei of Sinopec Engineering Construction Co., Ltd Eleven experts, including Professor Lu Anhui of Dalian University of Technology (Professor Wang Dongqi made the report on behalf of him), researcher Ding Yunjie of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Wang Jingdai of Zhejiang University, made specially invited reports. At the same time, 21 young scholars made oral reports. The experts and scholars at the meeting had in-depth discussions on key issues in the field of process engineering. Professors Li Xiaonian, Ma Xiaoxun, and Li Xuehui presided over the forum and presented certificates to the speakers.
This forum focuses on discussing the supply of raw materials, product substitution, technology expansion, route optimization, etc. involved in the systematic discipline of process engineering under the "dual carbon" goal, especially the development of new technologies that transform traditional process routes and improve process quality and efficiency. Focusing on the latest scientific research achievements and technological progress in catalysis, separation, process enhancement, purification, carbon reduction, and efficient utilization of waste resources in fields such as petrochemical, coal chemical, biomass chemical, and new energy chemical. The successful convening of this forum will further promote the development of process engineering and lay a solid foundation for the cross-border integration of the technology and business communities. In the future, the Process Engineering Forum will continue to hold its ground, create a shared open platform, promote interdisciplinary integration, and help the process engineering industry move towards a higher level.
