Progress in Research on Key Technologies of New Semi Solid State Batteries

Energy storage is a key technology for developing large-scale applications of renewable energy and an important technical guarantee for achieving the dual carbon goal. Among numerous energy storage technologies, lithium slurry batteries have many advantages such as simple process, easy scaling up, convenient operation and maintenance, and low operating costs. They have become a research and development hotspot in the energy storage field and have been selected as a key special project in the national key research and development plan. They are expected to become an ideal energy storage technology that is compatible with renewable energy generation such as wind and solar. Static slurry batteries can effectively avoid problems such as blockage, sedimentation, and uneven potential distribution caused by flow. They have higher energy density, relatively compact structural features, and simplified production processes, making them more advantageous in technical applications and gradually developing into a new type of semi solid battery technology. On the basis of undertaking national research projects and in combination with application requirements, the research institute has carried out research on key technologies such as the development of new semi-solid battery systems, structural design, and full electric preparation.

By selecting electrode materials for lithium batteries, combining material modification and system development, a stable slurry system has been developed; On this basis, the development of a new type of fully electric preparation work for semi-solid batteries was carried out, and a new type of semi-solid battery sample was prepared. The electrical performance test of the battery showed good cycling performance, verifying the feasibility of the technology.
